DWC opening vacancies for expatriates

Career opportunities at the massive Dubai World Central (DWC) development in Jebel Ali are being opened up to expatriates.

An earlier recruitment drive by the aviation community centred on Al Maktoum International, the world’s largest airport, was targeted at nationals.

But now professionals from around the world are being invited to apply for technical jobs at the airport and Dubai Logistics City, another part of the DWC project. More than 50 vacancies for experienced personnel have been announced.

“While last year’s drive gave young Emiratis an opportunity to use their skill sets and resources in one of the government’s most strategic initiatives so far, this year’s approach is to ensure all DWC’s operational requirements are met,” said Hassan Hokal, DWC’s Human Resources Group Director.

“People form the cornerstone of any massive project and we recognise that expatriates have contributed to the building of the nation. DWC hopes to attract the best talent in the aviation, logistics and real estate industries.”

Rashed Buqua’ra, Chief Executive of Infrastructure and Facilities Management, said: “All our vacancies may be applied for online at www.dwc.ae/careers, thereby enabling easy access and management of applications.”

Several parts of the airport are due to become operational in 2008-09.
